The Creative Process and Our Virtual Learning
How are the Studio Habits of Mind an essential part of developing our understanding of the creative process? How will we be able to reflect and share as a community of ceramic artists in our virtual world? Honestly, there are a number of different ways people spin what the creative process is. My personal breakdown builds off of the essential question -- WHAT DO ARTISTS DO?
IDEAS - We are inspired! We have ideas! We develop our ideas! PLAN - We plan! We sketch! We research! We develop skills! MAKE and EXPLORE - We experiment! We try and fail and try again! We problem-find and problem-solve! REFLECT and SHARE - We take a step back and ponder! We observe! We seek input and connection! This is all dependant on your personal style of learning, engaging, and growing as an artist. This is not always a linear process. . . and that is OK! So, what will all of that look like in terms of our online learning experience? Here is the plan. . . Think of the unit as the foundation for your IDEA development! The proposal form, inspiration images or videos, and sketches will make up the PLAN. Then the MAKING is when you get your hands dirty! At the end of each unit we will have a REFLECT and SHARE wrap-up! |
Sometimes it does feel like this. . . but we have to go through it, we engage and persist, we do get to that AMAZING I promise!
